UAE Golden Visa for Sri Lankan nationals
Sri Lankan citizens apply under the same UAE Golden Visa categories as every other nationality. There is no Sri Lanka-specific scheme. Property of AED 2 million, a skilled salary of at least AED 30,000 in the published MOHRE levels, business ownership and outstanding study are the routes. THAJ lists Sinhala among the languages the team works in, together with English. The tests themselves stay in the dirham figures ICP and DLD publish.
Same categories, including for families
ICP’s categories are not allocated by passport. Indian, Pakistani, British and Sri Lankan applicants use the same property, salary, business and student tests. There is no nationality price and no lifetime visa. In July 2025 ICP said reports of a lifetime Golden Residency for a number of nationalities were false, and that applications go only through official channels inside the UAE.
Parents can be sponsored once you hold a Golden Visa, which matters to families who want mother or father with them. The documents DLD asks for, including a dependency certificate where it is required, are on the family guide. A Sri Lankan birth or marriage certificate is not exempt. Students use the same published results as other nationalities, on the students page. There is no Sri Lankan quota on that page.
A salary under AED 30,000 may be a Green Visa question if the MOHRE level, the degree and the AED 15,000 figure all fit. It is not a reduced Golden Visa. Compare the two on Green Visa vs Golden Visa.
Papers issued in Sri Lanka
DLD requires documents issued outside the UAE to be attested, including by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant embassy, and legally translated if they are not in Arabic. Sinhala or English certificates both go through that chain when the authority asks. THAJ coordinates attestation and translation and quotes after the document is seen. We do not publish a fee in Sri Lankan rupees, and we do not invent one in dirhams. The team’s listed languages are English, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Sinhala.
Frequently asked questions
Can Sri Lankans get the UAE Golden Visa?
Yes. The categories and the dirham tests are the same as for other nationalities.
Can we speak Sinhala?
Yes. Sinhala is one of the languages THAJ lists, with English, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
Is there a special Golden Visa for Sri Lankan professionals?
No. Doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers and IT roles still have to match a published ICP route. Job title pages on this site explain that the title is not the category.
Do Sri Lankan certificates need attestation?
Yes, when the UAE authority asks for them. Foreign documents follow the attestation and translation standard, and we quote per document.
